The Baldacchino    (Completed May 2010)

Inspired by Gian Lorenzo Bernini's  baldacchino in  St. Peter's, the centerpiece of the garden is a groin vaulted concrete structure supported by spiral columns.   The roof is done using  hand made terracotta tiles set in mortar . A consealed cast concrete gutter will channel rain water to four corner gargoyles.  These terracotta  water spouts will represent the four seasons. An octagonal cupola   was fabricated for the crowing top with a finial sphere.

A  8' x 12' outdoor wall mural of Sicily showing all of its towns and cities.

Each of Sicily's 9 provinces will be cast in concrete and fitted like a puzzle fixed to an exterior masonry garden wall.

On each provincial casting will be each town's name and boundary line in contrasting color to produce a vibrant mosaic of Sicily.
