The sculpture garden features high relief marble carvings depicting scenes from Dante's Divine Comedy. The centerpiece is a solid marble sculpture entitled, The Commedia Block, which is carved on all four sides showing the divisions of INFERNO, PURGATORIO AND PARADISO as well as portraits of Dante , Virgil and Beatrice. These marble carvings are displayed outdoors where natural light can affect their appearance at different times of the day.
The Commedia Block is one piece of greek pentelic white marble.
The bust of Dante was also taken from this block.
The high reliefs are carved from white carrara marble. Each 2'x 3' slab weighs 200 pounds and is 2 -3/4" thick.

Dino Galiano started carving marble at the age of 15 and is self taught. A graduate of Rutgers College 83' with a major in art history. Influenced primarily by Michelangelo, other sculptors of interest include: Pisano, Ghiberti, Donatello, Jacopo della Quercia , Sansovino and Bernini.
In the works
New marble scenes now being modeled in clay prior to carving. They will depict Paradiso XI: The life of St. Francis according to Dante.
